Hello and welcome to Neighbors Psychological Services. My name is Dr. Daniel Neighbors. I am a licensed psychologist in Washington State. I received my PhD in Counseling Psychology from Washington State University and completed my Pre-doctoral internship at the University of Notre Dame. I have enjoyed work with children, adolescents, and adults.

I provide individual and group therapy during flexible hours Monday-Saturday. At this time I am providing telemental health services using the HIPAA compliant software Simple Practice. This form of treatment provides ease of access, especially for those who experience physical and/or transportation limitations.

I work from researched, empirically validated approaches. I primarily rely on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address problems in your life. My approach is helpful for a wide range of concerns because it focuses on helping you discover, consider, and address problematic thinking that is natural to all people; what you say to yourself about yourself, others, and the future defines your reality.

In your initial visit you and I will spend time learning more about you as a whole person. This process of better understanding your current symptoms, timelines of problems, situational triggers, helpful/unhelpful coping techniques, relational history, risk/injury related history, substance use, and many other details will increase diagnostic and treatment clarity as well as help me accurately provide contextual validation and compassion. We will work as a team throughout counseling, you as the expert of your past and present suffering and me as the tour guide walking you through a theoretical framework to better understand your suffering and equipping you with tools to move toward more intentional and meaningful living.
